About the Artists

Creator & Director of Nightworks, Rah Zen, is an electronic hip-hop producer with a rich sound consisting of vibrant sample chops, textural percussion & pulsing bass woven into off-kilter, swinging drums, found on his albums Upon the Apex and Midnight Satori.

Sam Okerstrom-Lang or “Samo" is a Boston based media artist and designer focusing on 3D animation, video projection design, and live visual environments. His work engages associations between technology, body, and perception by immersing the senses with experiences that draw feelings of wonder, awe, intensity, and reflection.

LDER is a music producer from Boston with a taste for boom bap and electronic music. Drawing much of his inspiration from the television programming block “Toonami”, he incorporates the beeps and blips from video games with whatever jazzy samples he can get his hands on.

Catman (Christian A. Tremblay, aka CAT), born and raised in Boylston MA, is a trained pianist with a master's degree in jazz composition; originally a prolific composer for jazz/rock/funk ensembles and Big Bands under his own name, he began the catman project to branch into the world of electronic music production, constructing a personal and abstract blend of lo-fi hip hop, psychedelia, jazz fusion, and R&B/Gospel.  His unique approach uses both found samples and written chord progressions/melodies, featuring intricate and dense harmonies woven with sentimentality and care. A core component of his experimental sound is the juxtaposition of these tender and ornate soundscapes with contrastingly hard-hitting drums and synth basses.

DJ Manipulator is a Worcester, MA based DJ / Producer who is known for his hard hitting beats and Turntable skills. When he's not making beats you can find him at your local record store digging in the crates for his next sample to chop.

Lightfoot is a producer / beat maker based out of Boston, MA. Straddling between the hip hop and electronic world, his music is inspired by heavy drums and electronic soundscapes. Lightfoot is up for nomination as Dance and Electronic artist of the year at the 2019 Boston Music Awards.

Channing Day, best known as GOD.DAMN.CHAN, is a Portland, ME-based producer and DJ. CHAN describes his music as a bubbling fondue pot of hip-hop, trap, electronica, bass, and broken-beat. In Bandcamp Daily’s ears, he sounds like “punishing, face-frying trap,” yet XLR8R commends Day’s “delicate beats and psychedelic lullabies.” Perhaps it’s this intricate style of genre-bending that’s garnered GOD.DAMN.CHAN and attention in the beat community.
