Project presented in partnership with the Rhode Island School of Design.

Projected on tin foil, a material that invokes sci-fi movies, a large-scale, two-channel video installation will live under the bleacher area of Fenway Park. As an uneven and reflective surface, tin foil creates a glistening, refracted image, which disrupts the viewer’s spatial reasoning. Thus, the video space seems to merge with a real, physical space. Fleetingly the videos seem to be one long screen of distorted cinematic imagery; but often, the separate projections will create rhythmic patterns that flicker in symmetrical opposition to each other. The confusing, disruptive, and addicting videos will be accompanied by an audio component that uses heavily altered samples from pop music and an out-of-sync phasing technique to create an overall sense of unease.
